Founded in the Netherlands by Latvian designer Katrina Mihalova, Kalina creates timeless essentials — from beeswax candles to wooden kitchen tools — designed in-house and handcrafted by small ateliers across the Baltic region.

“Growing up in Latvia meant living in close connection with nature — not as something separate, but as a way of life. We foraged in the forests, celebrated the seasons, and passed down traditions of crafting with what the land gave us. That love for slow, natural living is what shaped me.
When I moved to the Netherlands, I longed for everyday products that felt as pure and intentional as the ones I’d grown up with. So I started Kalina — first with beeswax candles, then with carefully chosen items made by European artisans who share those same values.
Kalina is my way of preserving a lifestyle rooted in simplicity, care, and quiet beauty. To gift something truly meaningful — that’s a ritual worth keeping.”
